VPS is an acronym for Virtual Private Server. A virtual private server is a virtual container with its own set of dedicated resources (CPU/RAM/Disk) that runs on larger physical servers, also known as nodes. The Fiberstack Cloud runs on the Xen hypervisor. The Xen platform allows full isolation of each virtual container at the kernel level. This guarantees dedicated resources to your Cloud VPS as well as remain unaffected by other containers on the node.
There is no difference at all. The term Cloud Server and Cloud VPS can be used interchangeably. They both run on the same self-healing and high-availability technology which protects the virtual server against physical hardware failures by shifting them to neighboring hypervisors.
The main difference between Cloud VPS Hosting and regular VPS Hosting is the way they react in the event of a hardware failure. When a physical server fails, regular VPS Hosting does not offer any self-healing capabilities. This means that your virtual server will go down until the hardware problem is resolved. On the other hand, Cloud VPS Hosting offers self-healing and high-availability features where in the event of a physical server failure, your virtual server is automatically shifted to a new hypervisor.
